Community Guidelines
PlanMate is built for real human connection. These guidelines outline the standards of respect, honesty, and safety expected from every member.
1. Our Core Community Values
PlanMate exists to turn shared interests into unforgettable real-life moments. Whether you are hosting a morning coffee run, leading a weekend mountain hike, or joining a board game evening, you are part of a community grounded in respect, authenticity, and shared excitement.
By joining PlanMate, you commit to treating others with dignity, following through on your commitments, and contributing to a welcoming environment for everyone.
2. Respect, Consent & Personal Boundaries
Personal boundaries must always be honored—both in online chats and during in-person activities:
- Respect “No”: If another member declines an invitation, asks not to be contacted, or steps away from an activity, accept their boundary gracefully.
- No Coercion: Never pressure fellow attendees to stay longer, consume alcohol, spend money beyond stated activity costs, or participate in activities they find uncomfortable.
- Inclusive Conduct: Welcome individuals of all backgrounds, fitness levels, and experience tiers into open group activities.
3. Harassment, Bullying & Hate Speech
We have zero tolerance for intimidation, hostility, or targeted abuse:
- Bullying & Harassment: Do not demean, taunt, stalk, insult, or maliciously target any individual or group.
- Hate Speech: Any attack, slur, or exclusion targeting individuals based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, gender, gender identity, or sexual orientation will result in immediate permanent account termination.
- Threats & Intimidation: Direct or indirect threats of violence, harm, or retribution are strictly prohibited and may be reported to law enforcement.
4. Sexual Misconduct & Explicit Content
PlanMate is an activity and social experience platform, not an explicit dating or adult service:
- No explicit nudity, sexually suggestive imagery, or pornographic material in profile pictures, activity thumbnails, stories, or chats.
- No sexual harassment, unwanted sexual advances, solicitation, or graphic commentary.
- Zero tolerance for sexual exploitation, grooming, or non-consensual sexual discussions.
5. Scams, Fraud & Impersonation
Honesty is non-negotiable on a platform where people meet in real life:
- Authentic Profiles: Do not impersonate other people, use fake photos, or misrepresent your qualifications.
- No Scams or Pyramids: Do not promote multi-level marketing (MLM), investment schemes, cryptocurrency giveaways, or fraudulent promotions.
- No Bait-and-Switch: Do not create an activity under one pretext (e.g. “Casual Coffee”) with the intention of pitching a sales presentation, commercial service, or unlisted recruitment.
6. Dangerous & Illegal Activities
Do not organize, promote, or encourage:
- Unlawful activities, including illicit drug distribution, trespassing, vandalism, or underage drinking.
- Dangerous stunts, extreme sports conducted without appropriate certified equipment, or activities that risk severe personal injury.
- Weapons sales, unlicensed commercial gambling, or unregulated commercial transport.
7. Privacy Violations & Non-Consensual Media
Respect the real-world privacy of everyone you encounter:
- No Doxxing: Never post another person's personal phone number, home address, workplace, or private contact details without explicit permission.
- Photography Consent: When taking photos or videos at activities, ask before posting recognizable pictures of other attendees to public feeds or stories. If someone asks you to remove their photo, please respect their request promptly.
8. In-Person Event & Activity Etiquette
Being a great community member extends beyond the app into real life:
- Keep Your RSVPs: If you join a plan, show up on time. If your plans change, cancel your spot in advance so someone else on the waitlist can join.
- Host Responsibilities: As a host, be welcoming, communicate venue changes promptly in group chat, and be present for the full duration of your activity.
- Pay Your Way: Unless a host explicitly states otherwise, all participants are responsible for their individual food, drink, entrance tickets, and venue expenses.
9. Enforcement & Consequences
When violations occur, our moderation team investigates and applies proportionate consequences:
Content Removal
Offending activities, stories, images, or chat messages are removed immediately from feeds.
Feature Restrictions
Temporary limitations on creating plans, joining activities, or sending messages.
Temporary Suspension
Account access is suspended while safety reviews or appeals take place.
Permanent Termination
Irrevocable ban for egregious misconduct, violence, exploitation, fraud, or repeat offenses.
10. How to Report Violations
